The first god desiring our worship was revealed in an earlier nugget as the stomach god. This god focuses on food and survival. There will be a time in our lives when all that matter is the provision of this basic need. No other priority is pursued, nothing else is important. The basic survival instinct empowers the operation of this god. And who will blame anyone for just working so as to eat and survive? Unfortunately however, many of us are trapped by this god. We have indirectly given our allegiance to it.
We now worship our stomach; we have become slaves to our appetite, we are driven by the instructions of our stomach. Our reasoning is simple: it is for our survival, it is the basic need of human. More unfortunate is the way we go about getting it – by using GOD! We think what validates our relationship with GOD is our ability to make things happen; at least make the basic need happen, so we succumb to the desire of working out the most basic of all miracles – turning stones to bread. That’s what we do virtually everyday with our works and jobs and so on. To escape serving this god however and to stop worshipping it, we must come to that point where we understand the truth that: “Human shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
