Our songs are not necessarily our worship; yes, songs can be part of our act of worship but that is as long as they are part of our obedience. So, before we start to sing slowly and think we are worshipping, we must ask ourselves what is responsible for our songs.

Many songs are circumstantial; situations in some instances force many to sing. Songs of worship however are commanded, we sing in obedience to such command. For instance, a command can go like this, “Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.”
